Configuration
CodeAndSystem.ai is designed to be keyboard-first and highly configurable.
Global Hotkeys
All hotkeys can be customized in Settings > Hotkeys.

AI Settings
- Model: Select from 5 models across OpenAI and Anthropic — smart defaults assign the best model per mode
- Temperature: Adjust creativity of responses (default: 0.2)
- Max Tokens: Set maximum response length
Privacy Settings
- Local Processing: All screenshots are processed locally before being sent to your AI provider
- Auto-Delete: Automatically delete captured images after analysis
- Data Retention: No data is stored on our servers
- Screen Capture Protection (Windows): Always on. The app window is excluded from all screen recordings at the OS level.
- Screen Capture Protection (macOS/Linux): Toggle privacy overlay with
Ctrl+Alt+P. Enable "Start with privacy mode" in Settings to activate on launch. See setup guide. - Shield Indicator: Check the top-right corner — green = fully protected, yellow = overlay active, red = privacy mode off.
- API Key (BYOK): Optionally use your own OpenAI or Anthropic API key so requests flow under your own account and data policies. See API Key Setup.
Appearance
- Theme: 22 themes including dark, light, and high-contrast accessibility variants. Separate theme preferences for Coding and Design modes
- Font Size: Adjust the solution display font size
- Window Behavior: Configure always-on-top and auto-hide behavior
